Somethings Never Change
Somethings never change, God’s truth, His promises, and our call to seek Him first. A biblical reflection on faith, purpose, and being set apart
Section 1: The Unchanging Truths
Some things in life are constant. One plus one will always equal two. Gravity never takes a day off—what goes up must come down. H₂O will forever be water, and the earth will always orbit the sun. These truths are dependable, predictable, and unchanging. In the same way, God’s nature and His promises never change. In a world that feels unstable and uncertain, it’s comforting to know that God remains constant.
Section 2: Seeking God Without Stopping
Jeremiah 29:13 reminds us, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Seeking God is not a one-time event; it’s a lifelong pursuit. Some things should never change—our desire to know God more deeply should be one of them. When challenges arise or seasons shift, we are called not to stop seeking, but to lean in even harder, trusting that God is always near.
Section 3: Priority Matters – Somethings Never Change
Jesus makes it clear in Matthew 6:33: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” When God is our first priority, everything else finds its proper place. Life becomes less about chasing and more about trusting. Prioritizing God doesn’t mean life will be perfect, but it does mean it will be purposeful.
Section 4: A Passion That Satisfies
Psalm 63:1–5 speaks of a deep hunger for God—a passion that leads to true satisfaction. “My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods.” Nothing else can fill the space that God was meant to occupy. When our passion is rooted in Him, we discover a joy and fulfilment that circumstances can’t take away.
Section 5: Making a Positive Difference – Somethings Never Change
Our faith is not meant to be hidden; it’s meant to impact those around us. Nelson Mandela once said that what counts in life is “the difference we have made to the lives of others.” As believers, we are called to love, serve, and uplift—no matter our age or stage of life. Being set apart doesn’t mean being distant; it means living in a way that reflects God’s love to the world.
Section 6: Set Apart and Belonging to God
You belong to God. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we walk in His favor, blessing, protection, healing, and restoration. Being set apart for God means living in His joy and purpose. Some things should never change—our identity in Christ, our dependence on His Spirit, and our hope in His promises. In a changing world, these truths remain forever steady.
