Believe boldly, Trust completely

Believe boldly, Trust completely, learn the difference between believing in God and fully trusting Him to guide your path through every season of life.

The Lesson from a Tightrope Walker

Charles Blondin, the famous tightrope walker, once stretched a rope across Niagara Falls. Crowds gathered in awe as he crossed back and forth over the roaring waters. Then he took a wheelbarrow and pushed it safely across the tightrope. He turned to the crowd and asked, “Do you believe I can push someone across in this wheelbarrow?” A man smiled and said, “I believe!” Blondin replied, “Then get in.”
The crowd fell silent. Belief had suddenly become a question of trust.

Believing in God vs. Trusting God

It’s one thing to believe that Christ can save — it’s another to trust Him with your whole soul.
Acknowledging that God is trustworthy is like saying, “I believe you can cross the rope.”
Trusting Him is saying, “I’ll get in the wheelbarrow.” Faith isn’t just mental agreement — it’s surrender.

Trusting God Through Every Season

Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Trust means letting go of control, even when we want to know every detail. We learn to trust as we come to know God’s character — just like with people. You don’t meet someone one day and instantly trust them. It takes time, consistency.

The Foundation of All Relationships – Believe boldly, Trust completely

Every healthy relationship — with God or others — is built on trust. We’re called to discern wisely, trust carefully, and forgive freely. Rebuilding trust takes small, steady steps, but every act of grace restores peace to the heart. When God is near, even in brokenness, peace replaces fear.

A Pastor’s Story of Forgiveness

A pastor once shared a story from her own life. She was a twin with three older brothers, but growing up, she noticed her mother treated her twin sister better. Years later, her mother confirmed it. Though she finally got the truth she’d sought, it didn’t feel like victory. One day, her mother leaned in and said softly, “Will you forgive me for what I’ve done?” The moment was painful — and healing. Forgiveness restored what resentment had slowly broken.

Built on Trust, Held by Peace – Believe boldly, Trust completely

Psalm 127:1 reminds us: “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” Anything not built on trust in God will eventually crumble. Peace doesn’t come from the absence of trouble, but from the presence of God in the midst of it. When we believe and trust Him fully, He makes our paths straight — and carries us safely across life’s tightrope.
