When the World Mislabels You, God Renames You

Have you ever felt mislabeled? Misunderstood? Judged by what you weren’t good at rather than what God actually designed you for? Take the story of Gillian Lynne. As a young girl, she struggled in school. She couldn’t focus in English class and teachers considered her “a problem.” But when her parents refused to simply accept the teacher’s final report, they discovered something remarkable. Gillian wasn’t broken—she was a dancer. She went on to become one of the most gifted ballerinas and choreographers of her generation. Her so-called weakness was never a flaw—it was a pointer to her true calling. And maybe that’s true for you too.

What Labels Are You Believing?

The world will try to name you. “Addict.” “Failure.” “Unworthy.” “Hopeless.” But we serve a covenant-keeping God who never breaks His purpose. The enemy knows he cannot destroy your view of God, so instead he tries to distort your view of yourself. Yet hope is this: believing not in what the world says about you, but in what God can do through you. Before God shouts, He often whispers. The key is whether we’re listening.

Living Better Begins with Thinking Better

When we think better about God, we live better for God.
Intimacy with Him requires attention. It means building a routine of prayer, Scripture, and stillness—creating space to hear the whisper. God’s name is Compassion. He sees you, He knows you, and He meets you in your weakness with tender love. God’s name is Unfailing Love. Unlike the temporary approval of people, His love doesn’t expire when you stumble. God’s name is Patience and Pardon. He doesn’t give up on you. He forgives again and again.

Redeeming the Misaligned Passions

What looked like distraction in Gillian’s school years was actually destiny in disguise. In the same way, the things that once looked like weakness in your life may be the very places God intends to display His glory. So the question is: Whose label will you believe? The one handed to you by the world, or the one spoken over you by your Father in heaven? God’s whisper is calling you to realign your passions, to see yourself through His compassionate, unfailing, and patient love. And when you do, you’ll find that His purpose for you was never broken—it was only waiting to be discovered.
