Exercising your faith brings perseverance

Exercising your faith brings perseverance

Embrace the challenges with unwavering belief, and let perseverance be your guide to a steadfast spiritual life. Exercising your faith brings perseverance.

What is faith?

The act of believing in something that is unseen but seeing it in your mind.

How to Strengthen faith ?

To build muscle in the gym requires you to use specific exercises to strain your muscles. Faith works in a similar way where God creates scenarios that test our faith to help us grow. We have the reassurance that obedience brings out the good things that God has planned for us.

How long does it take to receive what I am beliveing for?

There is no definitive answer to this as we may receive it quite instantly and at other times it could take years or even decades. There are times where we may never receive it depending on Gods will.

Are there consequences to our faith?

When we deviate from what God wills for us it may have consequences. God has given us the choice to make our own choices however some of them would not be in our best interests.

Is God testing or tempting me?

God never tempts us, he does test us. The idea of the test in the end is for a good outcome for us.

Example of Faith building in Bible

Abraham wanted a child and believed in God to give him a child in old age. He and Sarah waited many years and it didn’t look like it was happening. At one point he deviated from his faith and had a child outside his marriage. This had a bad consequence on many individuals around them at the time. Gods grace covered them. Eventually he is blessed with a son Issac.

Abraham Test

After waiting so long for his child, God creates a scenario where he is put to the test. He is asked to sacrifice the child he waited so long to receive. Naturally there was hesistancy but he obeyed God and brought him to the place where he would be sacrificed. God saw Abraham was willing to sacrifice his only son and stopped the action and blessed him due to the level of his sacrifice. Abraham was willing to sacrifice Isaac in the same way God sacrificed Jesus for Us.

Bible verses

Genesis 22 – 2 – Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”

Genesis 22 – 12 -“Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”

Genesis 22 -16:17 – The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,  I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,
